Print spooler keeps stopping on Windows

A crashing spooler is almost always a corrupt job or a bad driver. Clear both and it stays up.

   Restart the spooler

   Press Win+R, run services.msc, find Print Spooler and choose Restart.

   Clear the spool folder

   Stop the spooler, delete everything in C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, then start it again.

   Remove problem drivers

   Print Server Properties > Drivers: remove old or duplicate drivers, keeping only the current one.

   Set recovery options

   In the spooler's service properties, set first and second failure to Restart the Service.

   Reinstall the printer cleanly

   Remove the printer, delete its driver package, then install the latest driver from the manufacturer.
