Install or repair a printer driver cleanly

A half-removed old driver blocks the new one. Remove the package, not just the printer icon.

   Remove the printer

   Settings > Printers & scanners > select the device > Remove.

   Delete the driver package

   Open Print Server Properties > Drivers, select the old driver and choose Remove driver and driver package.

   Download from the manufacturer

   Use the official support page and match your exact model and operating system version.

   Install with the printer connected

   Follow the installer prompts and connect the printer only when asked.

   Print a test page

   Confirm from the driver properties and set the printer as default.
